US death toll in Iraq hits 4000

THE death toll of US military in Iraq has hit 4000, according to an AFP tally based on independent website ,www.icasualties.org, after the military announced today the deaths of four soldiers.
The four soldiers were killed yesterday in a road bomb attack during a patrol in southern Baghdad, the military said, taking the overall losses of the military in Iraq since the March 2003 war to 4000.

Another soldier was wounded in the attack, the military said.
