About This Gallery

In this part of our site you can find materials of an exhibition by the Russian artist Alexander Sil’nov devoted to the Classical Antiquity and its reflection in his book illustrations.

In a series of books which authors are known Russian scientists - experts on antique military science -  such as Valerii Nikonorov, Jurii Vinogradov, Sergey Rubtsov, Alexander Nefedkin, the artist is done the splendid work on reconstruction the images of soldiers from antique armies, subjects of art and a life. One of books with artist illustrations has been published in the Great Britain, in publishing house ‘Montvert Publication ’[1].

 The exhibition has been carried out in Saint Petersburg in the building of Catholic church ‘Jesus Heart’, in the halls of the Russian and Italian humanitarian Fund ‘The Dialogue of Cultures’, from January till February 2006.
