One of the most
wonderful elements of the Greek Art is the system of architectural
Orders which history goes back to VII century BC.
As
we marked earlier in one of the publications: ‘The ancient Orders
Architecture represents as the system of achievements in Religion, a
Science, Philosophy and Art. They have been concentrated in the
architectural language which reflecting the laws of a structure of the
Universe and absorbing the great discovery of ancient Greeks in area of
atomization, structurizations and canonization of the world’
[1].
The
system of preparation of future architects at all universities since
XVII century assumes obligatory acquaintance of students with ancient
Classics. At architectural faculties students get acquainted with
system of the Greek Orders and study bases of the Theory of Classical
Architectural Forms.
Here you can find
some samples of the graphical works executed by students of the first
year of education in St.-Petersburg Architectural and Building
University in Russia (SPBGASU).
Two kinds of tasks were carried out:
- work in the technique of the Chinese ink on the subject of the ancient Greek Orders elements.
- The images of monuments on a theme of Ancient Greece and Rome.
Introduced
here works are represented in the exhibition «The Classical antiquity
in creative works of architectural students», opened in July of this year in the suburb of Saint Petersburg, in city Tsarskoe Selo, at the former palace of Prince Paul Kochubey.
