Tunics were the main item of clothing, most men wore a linen tunic that extended down to the feet. In cold weather a second woolen tunic was worn. Often a white cloak would be worn as the outer garment. Labourers and artisans normally wore knee length tunics with half sleeves that were caught at the waist by a belt because they were easier to work in. Elaborate clothing of weathly Babylonians often had edges decorated with tasselled fringe.

Foot wear

Sandles were worn that were flat with an enclosed heel. They were fastened to the ankle by a thong and between the big and first toes.

Headware

As with other cultures in Mesopotamia or the Middle East as it is now known men wore turbans.

Scent

Men, like women were scented all over. This was mainly due to the fact that only the wealthy bathed regularly.

Accessories

Men of importance carried a seal in one hand and a staff in the other. The staff signified power and was not used as walking a stick.
