The aim of this site is to provide the richest resource of information about the ancient world backed by a community made up of passionate people sharing a common interest.

You will find information about the cities, the people that lived in them and the empires that ruled them. You will also find images, books and links to other sources of information. The content is provided by people with an interest in the ancient world that wish to share it in what we hope will become the premier place on the internet for doing so. Membership is free and allows you to participate in the community, providing content, taking part in discussions and sending messages.

This site has grown from a basic geocities homepage that included information about the ancient city of Babylon. Since its creation it has grown to be one of the leading sources of information about the city of Babylon on the web. Over time new features were added while in the background the site was being completely rebuilt in the view of turning it into a community site providing information about all of the cities of the ancient world.

It has now been re-launched as a community based site that gives all of the money earnt back to the people that contribute to the site. On this page you can find information about how the site works, how to get involved and how you can earn money.

ancientworldcities.com reflects the wants and needs of the people that use it, therefore we will continually be adding new features requested by users.
